Medicine vs Mechanical engineering

Being a doctor was my first aspiration when I was in high school. However, this desire or dream has taken a different way for two reasons. First, Studying medicine takes a long time. Moreover, the creativity in medicine is less than the creativity in mechanical engineering which is my future major. Second, no one encouraged me to be a doctor, even though my teachers and friends told me that” your look is appropriate to be a doctor.” In conclusion, my dream has changed from the medicine to mechanical engineering.

Goals and Inspirations

Everyone in this life has many goals in different sides of this life. For me, I have two sides which are my educational life and my social life. In educational life, some of my goals were achieved such as graduating from high school with high GPA, and being involved in SABIC scholarship which is the most successful scholarship in Saudi Arabia, and it is dream for every person has great inspiration. Fortunately, SABIC has made the foundation year program which prepares us to overcome the university’s obstacles easily. Consequently, I have many goals which I need to achieve during this program. First of all, improving my English proficiency is on the top of my goals. I remember when I came to the US, I couldn’t make one sentence correctly. Moreover, in the airport, one of my friends was translating for me. Second, increase my knowledge of science. Third, getting high score in TOEFL and SAT tests. Fourth, learning how to manage my time efficiently (this goal was achieved by Sarah’s class). Finally, discover the American lifestyle and the life in Nashville because I might be enrolled in Vanderbilt University next fall. Furthermore, I have future goals in my university life which are getting high GPA, participating in the activities and organization, changing the stereotypes about Saudi people, and making relationships with others. On the other hand, my social life has many goals. Making my parents proud of me is on the top. Second, being successful in my relationships with people. Third, take a trip around the world. Finally, I’ll get married, and I’ll spend my honeymoon in Hawaii or Maldive Islands. To conclude, the person without goals as a boat without destination, so we need to set goals in our lives and struggle to accomplish them.

My Worst Exam Experience

When I was in a high school, my physics teacher challenged me and my friends by “ open book exam” which we could use our notes and books to answer the exam. He said “ you will have an exam tomorrow and you can guys open your books to find the appropriate answers.” We were exited and glad. At exam’s night, we didn’t study very well. Moreover, we went to have a dinner and fun together. In short sentence, we didn’t care about the exam. When the zero hour came, We were confident to get full marks in that exam. The teacher gave us the exam, and we expected finishing the exam in 5 minutes. However, the results were unexpected. That exam was the hardest and worst one I have had in my life. Even with the books, I couldn’t answer one question correctly. I got 0 out of 15. The results weren’t satisfactory for me. That was our fault because we didn’t prepare for the exam. I have learned from this experience, and I hope that won’t happen with writing’s quiz.
